Review of the Adidas X 18.1 Adidas X 18.1 is the newest version of the X silo which released during the world cup this year. It takes over from the X 17.1 which was a very popular shoe but was not vastly different from it's older variant, the X 16.1 . The new version sees a lot of updates coming from the previous year's model which made a huge difference in the comfort, feel and performance of the shoe. We basically have a completely different shoe, which have been for the most parts for the better. It's not all perfect though as there are things that did bug me at times of use. So firstly for the changes coming from the previous generation. New upper : Gone are the days of long sessions to break-in the previous X 17.1 and 16.1s with the new and hugely improved upper, now made from 'mesh', ditching the older stiffer synthetic upper.
